Consulting and Professional Development

Sara Zadorozhny, M.S.

Hello, and welcome to Positive Connections. As a former teacher, staff instructor, Restorative Facilitator, and Dean of Students I created this program to help schools in their quest for academic success. I believe academic success starts with social emotional understanding, because when we look carefully at our students we see that their internal struggles and past experiences change the ways they learn. This is the same for all of us as human beings, so it is our responsibility to build up social emotional awareness on our school campuses to transform the way we interact with our students socially, instructionally, and from a disciplinary standpoint.

I started teaching middle school in California in 2016, and continued my journey as an educator in elementary classrooms for the next four years. I moved out to Arizona in 2020 and continued teaching and tutoring during the pandemic, while also pursuing a master's degree in Restorative Practices. As I finished my master's degree I started working in a middle school in Tucson as their Restorative Facilitator in 2022, preventing and responding to conflict between students, teachers, and other staff. Finding I absolutely loved this position I became a staff instructor for PBIS and CPI, guiding other schools in positive behavior interventions and supports as well as in non-violent crisis intervention. In 2024 I became the Dean of Students for the same middle school I had been working with for two years, and in 2025 I decided to kick off Positive Connections, which I have been working on behind the scenes throughout my journey as an educator. I hope to meet you at future trainings as an instructor, but I am most excited to learn from you and your school as we work together to make Positive Connections for campus culture success.
